In this book, I describe our governmental system and political processes, indicating why the separation of powers, pluralism, elections, and other components of "usual politics" do not accurately describe the present situation, and why action based on usual politics—e.g., voting and pressuring those in power—is not adequate for solving the problems of poverty, discrimination, and so on. I call for thinking and action that focuses on the administrative structures, processes, and personnel that dominate government, the economy, and the military.
